About Ahana
Psychiatric research, clinical learning and evidence-informed care.
Ahana Hospitals has an integrated clinical research department with experience in psychiatric clinical research. Its work is designed around protocol compliance, independent ethical review, informed consent, participant safety and accurate documentation.
Research participation is always study-specific
A clinical study is not the same as routine treatment. Eligibility, procedures, potential benefits, risks, alternatives, compensation and follow-up depend on the approved protocol. Participation is voluntary and requires an informed-consent process.
Ahana’s research experience
Institutional records document participation in more than 40 Phase II, Phase III, Phase IV and bioavailability/bioequivalence studies over more than a decade. Areas studied have included major depressive disorder, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, adolescent schizophrenia, depression with anxiety and other neuropsychiatric indications.
The research facility underwent United States Food and Drug Administration inspections in April 2015 and July 2022. Ahana’s institutional records state that neither inspection resulted in Form FDA 483 observations. These dates describe the organisation’s historical inspection record and do not imply approval of any particular treatment or current study.
Clinical trials
Protocol-based psychiatric studies conducted under defined eligibility, monitoring, reporting and safety requirements.
Trained research team
Investigators and research staff trained in applicable ICH-GCP, ICMR ethical guidance and Indian clinical-trial requirements.
Academic learning
Teaching, professional discussion and continuing learning that connect clinical experience with current evidence.
Research infrastructure
Ahana’s documented research infrastructure includes controlled investigational-product storage, temperature monitoring, refrigerators and freezers including −20°C and −80°C capacity, access control, backup power, centrifuge, ECG and EEG facilities, dedicated document storage and archival areas, and internet-enabled workspaces. The facilities used for an individual study depend on that protocol and its approvals.
Ethics and regulatory oversight
Independent ethical review
Research involving people requires review by an appropriately constituted ethics committee and applicable regulatory permissions before enrolment.
Informed consent
Potential participants receive study-specific information and an opportunity to ask questions before deciding.
Safety monitoring
Study procedures include protocol-defined clinical review, adverse-event assessment, documentation and escalation.
Privacy and data handling
Personal and research information is handled according to the protocol, consent documentation and applicable requirements.
What potential participants should ask
- What is the purpose of the study, and why might I be eligible?
- Which procedures are research and which are routine care?
- What are the foreseeable risks, inconveniences and possible benefits?
- What alternatives are available if I do not participate?
- How long will participation and follow-up last?
- Who should I contact about symptoms, adverse events or research rights?
- How will my information be used and protected?
Voluntary participation and routine care
Joining a study is voluntary. A potential participant may decline or withdraw in accordance with the consent and protocol without being denied appropriate routine clinical care. Withdrawal may not remove data already collected where retention is permitted and explained during consent.
