Patients & families
Understand likely charges, available payment options and the information to verify before treatment or admission.
Before treatment or admission
Ask for an estimate based on the anticipated care plan. Actual charges can change if the duration, room category, investigations, medicines, consultations or level of care changes.
- Confirm the registration, consultation and room charges.
- Ask what is included and excluded from an estimate.
- Check deposit and payment requirements.
- Request clarification about investigations, medicines and professional fees.
- Keep bills, receipts, prescriptions and discharge documents.
Insurance and cashless treatment
Insurance coverage differs between policies and insurers. Psychiatric treatment, outpatient care, room categories, medicines and rehabilitation services may each be subject to different conditions, waiting periods, exclusions, sub-limits or authorisation requirements.
Do not assume that a service is cashless or covered. Confirm eligibility with both Ahana Hospitals and your insurer or third-party administrator before treatment whenever possible.
Documents commonly requested
- Government-issued identity document.
- Insurance card or policy details.
- Referral, pre-authorisation or approval documents where applicable.
- Previous prescriptions, reports and discharge summaries.
- Policyholder and patient relationship documents if requested.
Deposits, estimates and final bills
An estimate is not a fixed final bill. Additional treatment, investigations, extended stay, upgraded accommodation or changes in clinical need may alter the amount. Ask the billing team how deposits, interim bills, refunds and outstanding balances are handled.
If a claim is declined
Ask the insurer or third-party administrator for the reason in writing and check whether further documents, clarification or an appeal are possible. The hospital can provide available clinical and billing records, but cannot guarantee approval or reimbursement.
Financial questions
Discuss financial concerns with the billing or administrative team before admission where feasible. This page does not constitute an insurance guarantee, quotation or contract. Current charges and payment methods should be confirmed directly.
